founded in 2003 by Dorrie Williams-Wheeler, the author of
Be My Sorority Sister-Under Pressure is a website dedicated
to sororities for women of color, traditional sororities, and
multicultural sororities. This
guide is designed to be a reference to find out information about
African-American, Multicultural, Latina/Hispanic and other sororities
for women of color.
This is a general information site and we will NEVER list any
sororities secrets, handshakes or other information sacred to
the organization. To find out specific information, please visit
the official web site for the organizations. Please note that
we do not have direct affiliation with membership requirements,
meaning, do not contact us with membership requests.

The four primary African-American sororities
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.,
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., were
all founded between 1908 and 1922. Alpha Kappa Alpha, one of the
most well known sororities in the world celebrated it's 100th
Anniversary in 2008. |
